Union Championship Options

Union-Championships
Hello 11x11 community,

we are proud to announce, that tomorrow we will start the application period for the long-expected first Union-Championship. At this point we would like to give you a short summary of the rules. The full Union-Championship rules can be found here: Union-Championship Rules

Every football union can apply for the first Union-Championship season. The application period will be open from Thursday, January 20th, 2011 until Monday, January 24th, 2011. The 32 applying football unions with the most glory points will be chosen for the first Union-Championship season.
The first game day will start on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 at 9pm GMT.

Gamedays:
Every gamedays last from 9pm GMT until 8:59pm GMT of the next day. Every union member can help his union with playing against members of the opponent football union. Go to Games > Union Championship and click on "Find an opponent". The system will search for an opponent. If an opponent with the same level (or 1 level more or less for level 8,9,10*) has already applied the game starts immediately. If there is no application by an opponent, your team will set to standby-mode, waiting for an opponent. Game starts, when an opponent looks for an opponent.

10% of total points restriction:
If a user has already scored more than 10% of all points for his union, further applications for games will not be added. The user can apply later, when the percentage of his score is less than 10% of the total score. This restriction is active after the union has reached at least 20 points.

End of game day and technichal wins/loss:
Points are accumulated in matches from 21pm GMT to 20:59pm GMT. The winner is determined by the score at 20:59pm GMT. Football unions get 3 points for a victory, for a draw 1 point, for technical victory ** -1 point and for a technical loss ** -2 points.

** What is a technical victory / loss / draw?
** As all unions should play active in the union Championships we added a penalty for not playing many games per day. If a match between two football unions ends with winner scored less than 200 points:
a) the winning union and the losing union did not reach 200 points. So it is a technical victory for the union with more points (but less than 200) and they won’t get 3 points for the win, but -1 point, the losing union gets -2.
if the score is tied (with less than 200 points for each union), both teams get -2 points.

Example: union A vs. union B - final result 30:20. Both unions did not play many games and get penalized for that. Though union A has won the match, one point will be removed from the total points (-1). As union B even lost the match two points are removed (-2).
With a result of 30:30 in example, both Unions get a penalty of -2.

If Unions are playing much, also a losing FU should be rewarded for their active playing. And if a union dominates its opponent, it should also be rewarded special. For this we added the Bonus Points:
a) if both opponent Football Unions score 200 or more points, both unions receive bonus points***.
*** Explanation of bonus points: If the difference between the score of the winning union and the losing union is 100 or more, then the winning union receives 4 points, the losing union receives 1 point. If the difference is less than 100 points, the winning union receives 3 points. The losing union is rewarded with 2 points.
union, which play more home games (because of sending more requests to “Find an opponent”), also get one bonus point at the end of the game day

So, even if you play against a much stronger Union. You can collect 3 points for your union by earning bonus points. Keep this in mind, even if your union is losing a gameday.

Disqualification of football unions:
Disqualification of football unions will be done in the following cases:
1. Football union gets deleted from the game (in example own wish or penalty for cheating).
2. union caused 5 technical losses / draws.
Football Unions taken from the union Championships can not be returned under any circumstances and can not be replaced by another union system.
Disqualified unions automatically receive technical defeats against all opponents in not already played games. In the following season, the disqualified football-union is not able to apply for participating in the Championship.
The rotation between the Divisions can be found in the Rules section, too.

Awards:
All Football-unions will be rewarded with ingame cash (between 3.000.000 and 20.000) for the FU and experience percentage (between 300% and 150%) for FU-tournaments. The full list is available in the rules section.
You may have noticed, that the experience points in Union-tournaments have been reduced. During the preparation of the Union-Championship we noticed a bug, that the experience percentage in all Union-tournaments had been at 600%. We reduced it to 300% for all Unions in the end of December. Now every union can play for their percentages (300% to 150%) in the Championships. All Unions, which do not participate will receive 150% after the Championship finished. So the percentage does not depend on the glory rating, but on the Union-Championship rewards.
