Deciding who will pass to the next round Options

I was wondering how this game deciding who will pass on the next round when 2 or more teams have the same points and same goal difference, It happened to me twice, first one is all 4 teams have a draw result and gd all are 2-2, and it seems that the game decide rank 1-4 by the alphabet, which is a disadvantage for me as a team started with 'v', the 2nd one that happened to me is ,me and one other team have the exact same points and gd, but at the last game i win to him 1-0, i think if you counted head to head result, i'm the one who supposed go to the next round, but it was him that go to the next round.
So ,maybe admin can tell how do you decide it? or is it just by random?
